  • Content:Hi Ed, I still don have any filter information for you, other than saying that there are all kinds of video settings in the Toupview software, including color temperature. I SUSPECT you could adjust for the color temperature shift of turning your light down using the color temperature or tint controls - there are LOTS of video controls in the SW. My main reason for writing is to update my saga of the ToupTek camera. Some recall that the 8MP TT camera I was using belonged to another department. We\, my boss FINALLY coughed up with a few bucks and bought my lab the 3MP ToupTek. After we received the new 8MP camera (there was a manufacturing error in the original relay lens that prevented it from being parfocal) I was quite pleased with the results. I had been planning on buying a Tucsen camera for my lab, but was so pleased with the replacement camera and excellent help from an engineer at ToupTek, I decided the next camera would be a ToupTek also. There was plenty of light sensitivity in the 8MP TT for brightfield (yes, I had to turn the gain way down), however, in darkfield on my old Zeiss Universal getting sufficient light for a good picture was dicey. I don need to use darkfield very often, but I wanted the capability to take pictures in darkfield. (Thanks to Paul Martin for convincing me to try darkfield, the differences can be stunning.) Anyway, since we already had the 8MP version in the building, I opted for the model with the MOST light sensitivity - the 3MP TT. I would have preferred a little more resolution, but if I ever really needed it, I could borrow the 8MP TT. If we hadn already had the 8MP camera, I probably would have selected the 5MP TT as a compromise between light sensitivity and resolution. Anyway, with the parfocal issue way behind me, Im quite pleased with both the 8 and 3 MP ToupTek cameras. Best Regards, -infinityplustwo Just a note, ToupTek, has a lot of problems with their email system (it bounces messages back often), but the engineer who helped me gave me his home email address just to make sure my emails would get through. When he finally did that, getting the replacement camera went very smoothly. Anyway, Im a happy camper now. --- In Microscope@yahoogroups.com, Ed Herst wrote: > > Thanks a lot, Inf+2, I tried that with much greater success. It still is a > very sensitive camera.
